Contexto | Gender equality, including in sexual and reproductive health and rights, is essential to reduce poverty. Evidence shows that that a reduction in the gap between men and women’s participation in the labor force results in faster economic growth. For every additional year of education for women, child mortality decreases by 9.5%. Yet, progress is mixed: 64% of illiterate adults are women. Only 29% of countries have achieved gender parity at the upper secondary level. The global context shows that gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights are increasingly under threat and yet there is also a unique opportunity for targeted, evidence-based advocacy. |
Objetivos | Enhanced influence on policies and investments for gender equality and girls’ and women’s health, rights, and wellbeing, including sexual and reproductive, health, and rights (SRHR), by advocates and influencers globally and nationally. |
