The Foundations and Quality Division is responsible for a variety of transversal dossiers at the SDC. The division manages core processes, ensures the cohesion of the SDC's evidence-based interventions for effective international cooperation (IC) and prepares the decisions of the SDC's senior management.
Foundations and Quality
It guides SDC operations in the political negotiation process, prepares the financial data and statistics necessary for management, oversees the strategic direction of SDC activities, promotes policy coherence for sustainable development (especially as regards economic policy issues), initiates research partnerships to develop solutions for implementing the 2030 Agenda, monitors new trends in IC, steers the development and implementation of the IC strategy, ensures the methodological quality of IC, steers the internal digitalisation process, and supports and advises the SDC on innovative processes, factual questions and implementing digital foreign policy.
There are six units dedicated to fulfilling these responsibilities: Federal Council and Parliamentary Affairs SDC, Evaluation and Controlling, Knowledge and Innovation, Development Finance Statistics, Quality Assurance (QA) and Internal Digitalisation, and Analysis and Research.
