From 31 March to 8 April 2017, visitors to Fribourg can enjoy an array of films from all over the world. The international competition of the Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) is the backbone of the festival programme, with around 12 feature-length films.

The official selection also comprises three short-film programmes (a mixture of fiction, documentaries and animation), giving the audience the opportunity to discover new talent and cinematography trends from Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Film-makers are invited to showcase their work in Fribourg. One of the festival’s parallel sections entitled ‘New Territory: Nepal’ shines the spotlight on the burgeoning Nepalese film industry.

The detailed programme of the 31st FIFF will be published on the festival website on 15 March. The SDC has supported the festival, which promotes film-making in the South and East, since its inception.
