La maitrise de l’eau et le développement d’énergies accessibles aux populations sont des facteurs nécessaires pour créer les conditions d’un développement humain et durable en Afrique. Pour y parvenir la formation de cadres compétents et le développement de technologies et d’approches innovantes sont indispensables. Le programme ambitionne d’y contribuer à travers un partenariat académique entre l’Institut International de l’Ingénierie, de l’Eau et de l’Environnement (2iE) et des institutions universitaires suisses.

Integrated Water Management of the Lower Mekong Basin

The Mekong River holds immense economic, social, ecological, and cultural importance. An estimated forty million people, living in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand, and Vietnam, rely on the river to support their agriculture and fisheries. In 2011, SDC reinstated its support to the Mekong River Commission (MRC), an inter-governmental institution, to contribute to equitable development and environmental protection in the Lower Mekong Basin.
