The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which has been signed by Federal Councillor Schneider-Ammann and his American counterparts in Washington on December 3, reaffirmed the will of the two countries to continue their ongoing cooperation in the area of VPET, CTE and apprenticeship. The MoU provides a framework for a practical exchange of information on VPET-related topics between the two countries, and was concluded between the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research EAER and the U.S. Departments of Education, Commerce and Labor. The MoU will be valid for three years.

On December 3, Federal Councillor Johann N. Schneider-Ammann was in Washington, D.C. to sign a Memorandum of Understanding concerning cooperation on advancing Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET), Career and Technical Education (CTE), and Apprenticeship with U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta.
