Swiss Red Cross: Emergency WASH assistance to IDPs

According to the National WASH Cluster there are currently approximately 124’000 IDPs hosted in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. The Swiss Red Cross, together with the ICRC and the Ukrainian Red Cross Society will assist the authorities in Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil oblasts to cover the immediate needs of the IDPS water, sanitation, hygiene and shelter/habitat.

Hintergrund | Since the military attack on Ukraine, 7.7 million IDPs are on the move in the country, with an increase of 600’000 since the beginning of April. The major part of the IDPs orginated form Eastern Ukraine. 30% of the IDPs in the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast are hosted in 115 centers, whereas in Ternopil oblast, over 300 shelter sites are distributed around its territory. An estimated 70% of IDPs are living with host communities. |
Ziele | The primary goal is to alleviate suffering of vulnerable and crisis/war-affected individuals in Ukraine. |
