Organized by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, the Festival entitled “Silver Lining” this year explores the hidden wonders at night through lighting and sound. The Festival is bringing together eight lighting installations by both local and international artists, among them is Encor Studio which was founded in 2015 by Swiss artists whose work focuses on creating artworks with innovative materials and advanced processes.

Circular Frontier is Encor’s audiovisual installation which will be shown during the Festival . A series of vertical lights stand around a mirrored water pool and are reflected on the water surface. These objects are first rigorously geometric, then slowly evolve and become more and more organic. This water pond interacts with its surroundings, physically transforming the dialogs from the light objects. Random shapes become waves, lights evolve into vibrations, and tidy objects become messy. An interaction starts, between order and disorder, reality and its interpretation. Circular Frontier poetically questions the notions of frontiers and interpretation of reality, twists the audience’s perception.
