From the 25th November to the 29th November, the third edition of the German Film Days will take place at the Vega Scene in Oslo. The programme is a colourful mix of German-language films that are entertaining, challenging, emotional, moving, aesthetic and educational. This year, two Swiss co-productions will be screened: "The Universal Theory", from Timm Kröger, and "Blind at Heart", from Barbara Albert.
"Blind at Heart"
After WWII, Helene is ready to do anything to start a new life. As a young woman, she came to the exciting Berlin of the roaring 20s, wanting to become a doctor, and soon fell in love with a man named Karl. But the course of her life took a drastic, irreversible turn when the Nazis came into power
Barbara Albert's film adaptation of Julia Franck's bestseller, which won the German Book Prize, is a stirring homage to female physicality and self-empowerment.
German Film Days is a presentation and celebration of new German films shown for the first time on a cinema screen in Oslo. The German Film Days are organised by Goethe-Institut Norway in collaboration with Vega Scene and German Films, and in partnership with the German Embassy in Oslo.
