A Minkamann, au centre du Soudan du Sud, cinq cliniques médicales offrent des soins de base à la population déplacée victime des combats qui font rage dans le pays depuis le mois de décembre 2013. Soutenue par la DDC, l’action de Médecins Sans Frontières – Suisse relève du défi permanent. Un million de Sud-Soudanais ont fui leurs habitations.

Multi Sector Assistance to refugees in Maban County

The project is designed to provide multi sector assistance to refugees in Yusuf Batil refugee camp (target 40 867), Maban County, Upper Nile State, through the provision of health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene services. In addition, vulnerable host communities (target 21 688) will be able to access the health service and safe water supply.

One off Allocation (Cash) of SDC Funding to UNICEF emergency Operations in 2014

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of addressing underfunded crisis in a more predictable manner. SDC funding to UNICEF emergency programmes in 5 underfunded emergency situations allows UNICEF to better plan its assistance programmes and proactively respond to situations as needed. Moreover contributions will not be thematically earmarked.

Contributions to OCHA Field Operations in 2014

OCHA is responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure coherent response to emergencies and facilitates the work of operational humanitarian agencies in the field. SDC aims to support OCHA in delivering its core functions in humanitarian coordination, advocacy and policy development. Therefore, SDC seeks to provide support to OCHA field offices in relevant humanitarian contexts, in line with SDC geographic and thematic priorities.
