With the signing of the MoU, Switzerland will assist the Ministry to build institutional capacities to implement youth employment measures at national and local level. Main points of cooperation with the Ministry are related to the support with the following: Development of the Action plan for period 2024 to 2026 for implementation of the Employment strategy of the Republic of Serbia 2021 - 2026, Development of the National Standard Classification of Occupations, Building capacities of civil society organizations for the outreach to youth, Support with amendments of the Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, Development of the new Law on Employment and Unemployment Insurance and Building capacities of the staff in the Department for Labour and Employment, including engagement of a national expert in employment.

Switzerland has been a committed development partner of Serbia for the past 30 years. With a financial volume of CHF 96.5 million for the period 2022 – 2025, Switzerland will continue its engagement with Serbia with a special focus on topics of economic development and employment, democratic governance and civil society as well as climate change and sustainable urban development.

In the field of Economic Development and Employment, the E2E project constitutes an important pillar. It creates Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities for young jobseekers from selected regions of Central, Southern and Western Serbia. Through previously conducted WBL programs 1.678 young people received trainings. More than 77 % of young people got employment after completing the training. In total 132 companies from 22 municipalities and cities participated. So far, almost 21.000 youngsters have received career guidance and counselling services developed by the E2E, out of which 3,665 were belonging to hard to place groups (HPY).  More than 600 HPY were involved in WBL.
