Within the framework of the program „From Education to employment (E2E)“ around 350 young people have received trainings designed to assist them to find quality employment in Novi Pazar.

Trainings within the program are implemented in local companies by educating unemployed young people with the aim to address the lack of qualified and trained staff. At the same time, the sensitization and education of local employers about the necessity and importance of employment of young people with disabilities is carried out.

Ursula Läubli, Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Serbia, visited Novi Pazar where she met with local partners - the Youth Office of the City of Novi Pazar, the Youth Club and the Association of Psychologists, as well as with the representatives of the School for Textile and Leather Design. During this occasion, the results of this support together with the improvement of the socio-economic situation of young people in Novi Pazar, were presented to the Swiss delegation.

Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office, Ursula Läubli stated:

„Thanks to Swiss support and cooperation with local partners, the program E2E has developed rapidly in Novi Pazar and involves large number of young people. 54 of them were given the opportunity to be trained for lacking professions and for many of them this has been their first working experience. Over 200 high school students received advice on how to continue their professional careers through career counseling. This advice will assist them to find jobs faster after completing their studies. I am very pleased that 20 people with disabilities are also included in the program and have the opportunity to find a job after completing workshops and practical trainings with employers.”

The Swiss Governement supports the implementation of the first phase of this program, amounting to 7.2 million Euros, with the aim to increase employment of young people in Serbia. This topic remains a priority of the new Swiss Cooperation Strategy for Serbia during the period 2018-2021.
