Easier to jobs for youth in Kragujevac

Youth in Kragujevac, who are looking for jobs, as well as companies that are in need of  training programs for their development, can benefit of the four years long Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) program „Znanjem do posla“ (From Education to Employment) as to ease the access to modern methods of vocational skills development. In five pilot municipalities in Serbia, the Program will provide to youth  free access to vocational skills development programs required by the companies, gain first working experience and that way increase their chances to get a job. The companies will be in a position to receive expert support as to develop modern vocational skills development programs for their employees in order to have qualified work force as one of the key preconditions for further business development.

Special attention will be given to socially vulnerable groups, namely youth with slight development challenges, youth and women victims of violence, etc. Program contributes to implementation of the new Economic and Social Reform Program (ESRP) of the Government of Serbia and is supporting national institutions in the field of employment and education.

Official presentation of the project Znanjem do posla/ From Education to Employment and the project plans for 2017, is set for Tuesday 14 March 2017 at 12hrs in the Hall fo City of Kragujevac.

At the presentation the speakers will be Ambassador of Switzerland to Serbia H.E. Philippe Guex, mayor of Kragujevac Radomir Nikolić, manager of the Team for social inclusion and poverty reduction of the Government of Serbia (SIPRU) Ivan Sekulović and director of local level component of E2E project Christoph Baumann.

Immediately after the presentation, we Invite you to panel discussion „Through cooperation to jobs for youth“ were we will discuss with the representative of the Swiss Cooperation Office Ursula Läubli, government of Serbia, local government, young people, companies and schools how we can influence unemployment decrease  at the local level through public-private partnerships.

Through four years partnership of Government of Switzerland and Serbia through program „Znanjem do posla“ (E2E) worth 15,3 million CHF, we aim to raise employability of youth in socially inclusive and sustainable manner, reinforcing also the existing system of vocational skills development that will make the local municipalities attractive also for the investments. Besides Kragujevac, program is active in and around Knjaževac, Pirot, Novi Pazar and Kruševac.  Program will use experiences from Switzerland, as to find the most suitable models of youth skills development with elements of dual education – cooperation models between companies, training institutions and youth as to decrease youth unemployment and create preconditions for faster economic development.
