DRR Backstopping services for Lima DRR Hub

It has been considered necessary and strategic for the Lima DRR and RR Hub to hire a backstopper in order to provide DRR technical assistance for specific actions in design, implementation and / or follow-up processes of Lima Hub. The backstopping activities will be aligned to the first two Programmatic Pillars of the DRR and RR Regional Concept for the Andean Region which are: Disaster Risk Reduction and Policy Dialogue.

Background Peru and the entire Andes Region are highly vulnerable to the effects of natural and manmade disasters as well as climate change - which made SDC set up in January 2018, a Regional DRR and Rapid Response (RR) Hub, based in Lima and which will be highly complementary to existing Swiss Global Cooperation Portfolios in the Andean region. Based on the experience of SDC acquired through the implementation of projects and programs, the DRR and RR Hub will implement a set of pibot initiatives to support targeted DRR actions to test new approaches with potential to scale up and with catalytic effect, and also fostering policy dialogue with the counterparts in the different countries.
Objectives The aim of the Backstopping services provided by Roberto Mendez is for the Strengthening of the Lima Hub DRR delivery within the framework of Lima Hub priorities and compliance with its strategic pillars and dispatch 2017-20.

Expected results:   Mission reports, specific documents related to tasks and registration of activities of technical assistance in line with the two first strategic pillars of Lima Hub (Disaster Risk Reduction and Policy Dialogue).
