Central Asia : Water Accountability in Transboundary Chu and Talas River Basins

Effective water resources management requires data management capacities for proper decision-making at different scales. In this context, a modern, Multi-Level Distributed Water Information Systems is a management instrument that provides stakeholders’ gateways for judicious and sustainable water resources management. The project is aiming at introducing such a modern management information system in transboundary Chu and Talas river basins to improve water accountability and transparency.


Strong and Inclusive Parliamentary Democracy

The parliamentary democracy in Kyrgyzstan still needs to be strengthened. The project will institutionalise systems allowing the Parliament to held the government accountable for its performance in public service delivery. An increased citizens' participation in the development of national policies will help to identify adequate solutions to people's need and priorities. In this process, citizens will have an oversight on the work and performance of the Parliament and its members.


Promotion of Sustainable Economic Development inKyrgyzstan

The project contributes to sustainable economic growth and thus Job creation and increased incomes, especially for youth and women, in Jalal-Abad Oblast of Southern Kyrgyzstan. lt will focus on the development of selected value chains and the promotion of local economic development with the aim to enhance the competitiveness of targeted businesses and export sectors and, complementarily, to promote a business enabling environment as a precondition for private sector growth.


Naryn Wastewater Rehabilitation Project - Phase II

The Naryn Wastewater Rehabilitation Project will support the city of Naryn and the municipal water company in providing a climate change resilient, reliable and sustainable access to sanitation for the city?s 39?000 inhabitants.


IFC Financial Inclusion for Growth

The Financial Inclusion for Growth Project (FIG) seeks to improve access to credit, payments and savings for individuals and businesses through formal (financial) institutions in a responsible manner. The FIG is implemented by the International Finance Corporation.


Sustainable Winter Tourism Project

To foster sustainable and inclusive growth in the tourism sector in Kyrgyzstan, SECO aims at strenghtening the winter tourism value-chain in selected localities of Kyrgyzstan. Global Quality and Standards Programme (GQSP)

The Global Quality and Standards Programme (GQSP) implemented with UNIDO addresses challenges faced by exporters from developing countries, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to meet and prove conformity with market entry requirements/standards, technical regulations and market requirements.


Kyrgyzstan: Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings

Given the high energy intensity of Kyrgyzstan (with buildings being the main energy consumer), SECO will support the Government?s Action Plan to reduce energy consumption by demonstrating energy efficiency benefits in public buildings in the health and education sectors. The project will also help to build local expertise on energy efficiency.


Mobile Money Project

The Azerbaijan and Central Asia Mobile Money Project (ACAMM) seeks to improve financial inclusion and financial resilience by increasing access to low cost mobile financial services to the un(der)banked. ACAAM is implemented by the International Finance Corporation and co-funded by the UK's Department for International Development (DFID).


Multi-Country Investment Climate Program

The Multi-Country Investment Climate Program (MCICP) supports investment climate reform advisory in a total of 20 SECO partner countries. It is implemented by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a globally recognized leader in this field.


Global program on Textil & Clothing - GTEX

GTEX addresses challenges faced by the Textile & Clothing (T&C) sector, in particular for companies to meet international market requirements. It will enhance capacities at company level, promote a conducive policy environment and strengthen trade support institutions such as business entities, consultancy firms or training centres.


Global Financial Infrastructure Programme

The Global Financial Infrastructure Programme (hereafter, the programme) will support the development and creation of well-functioning financial markets in SECO?s priority countries. With a specific focus on credit reporting and secured transaction, the programme will facilitate financial inclusion and foster responsible access to finance. It will be implemented by the the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
