The Basel-based trio SULP was founded in 2005 by Simon Dettwiler (schwyzerörgeli accordion), Matthias Gubler (saxophone) and Hannes Fankhauser (contrabass, tuba, alphorn). They explore folk music from an urban vantage point and create a cosmopolitan sound that weaves in elements from all over the world.
For this Japan tour, they will be accompanied by organist Lisette Stoffel.
