The level of investments by Swiss Companies abroad is traditionally very high. Ireland is no exception.
Swiss multinational companies have invested considerable resources in Ireland and this is reflected in the very high level of trade between the two countries (please refer to the corresponding chapter on this site).
At the present time and according to a statistic published by Forfas (International Trade and Investment), exports of industrial goods by Swiss companies based in Ireland amount to about 3% of the total figure by foreign owned companies in this country (far after the USA (70 %), but on par with the UK and more than Germany (2%) or the Netherlands (2%).
