LDP Trio at the Ujbuda Jazz Festival Budapest

LDP Trio © Peter Gannushkin

The LISTENING 2015 tour across Europe and the US was a huge success. Urs Leimgruber (Saxophone), Jacques Demierre (Piano) and Barre Phillips (Double Bass) celebrated 15 years of musical collaboration by presenting an extraordinary aural experience. Ever since their first concert, in 1999, this unique tonal quality has been the hallmark of the trio’s work, and over the course of several tours they have confirmed their status as three of the most important representatives of the experimental music tradition.

LDP in RESIDENCE will see the three musicians continuing their practice of listening (see LISTENING, published in 2016 by Editions Lenka lente) by inviting local musicians and a symphony orchestra to participate in a musical encounter, whether by putting together the programme for an evening or by joining the trio in the experience of spontaneous listening.

After residencies in Geneva, Toulon, Lucerne, Paris, Zürich and at the Jazzfestival Willisau 2017 the LDP trio will be performing together and alongside György Kurtág Jr. and László Gőz at the Ujbuda Jazz Festival Budapest 2017.
