On 8-14 March 2015 the Swiss Cooperation Office for the South Caucasus (SCO) organizes the Advanced Mountain Rescue Training in Kazbegi municipality. The main focus of the training is avalanche and crevasse rescue.

The training is designed for a mixed team of 14 rescuers from Tbilisi, Stepantsminda and Mestia Mountain Rescue Units of the Emergency Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, as well as the Voluntary Mountain Rescue Association.

The training is conducted within the framework of the Swiss-funded Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project, which aims to improve disaster management capacities in Georgia.
