To mark Human Rights Day on 10 December 2014 the Human Security Division (HSD) of the FDFA is organising an event on the theme of peaceful protests. Ambassador Claude Wild, head of the HSD, will open the event at the Kino Kunstmuseum in Bern.

After his address, the film “Everyday Rebellion”, a homage to creative and peaceful forms of protest, will be screened, followed by a panel discussion with Ukrainian Euromaidan activist Maryna Tsapok, Jürg Wichtermann, the town clerk of Bern responsible for authorising demonstrations in the capital, and a representative of Amnesty International Switzerland. The discussion will be moderated by Florian Irminger of the Human Rights House Network.

Human Rights Day commemorates the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 10 December 1948.
