"When I die" is based on a mystical true story.

In 1970 an English widowed housewife Rosemary Brown presented unknown works by such great, dead composers as Franz Liszt, Bach, Schubert, Chopin, Beethoven and Debussy.

Brown later told that Liszt was the first composer to contact her from beyond the grave. He had a request: perhaps Brown could help him to finish a work he had not been able to complete during his lifetime. Brown consented and a fruitful collaboration with several composers began.

On the basis of this story and the dead composers’ music, director Thom Luz has built a magical, fine-tuned and eerie performance with actors and musicians who seem to have emerged from another dimension. The atmospheric musical piece is spellbindingly beautiful and poignant, at times even amusing. It creates space that allows you to turn off your intellect for a while and embrace the inexplicable side of the human mind.
