Thirty-two years after the first Poetry Slam event in Chicago, Ideogramma has underaken the organisation of the first ever Poetry Slam Cyprus on Monday, 27 & Tuesday, 28 March 2017 with the aim to provoke and push poetry to the limits, to seek new forms of expression, always staying abreast of the contemporary international poetry trends.
This poetry competition features six poets from abroad, including Alain Wafelmann from Switzerland.
Alain Wafelmann, the lyricist, slam poet and knight of the pen!
Born on 03.07.1971 in Bern, he worked as a civil engineer and mathematician in the field of IT-research & development before changing his way to study German literature, classical philology and philosophy at the University of Bern in order to follow his passion: the written word.
He lives in Bern and Vienna and has published two volumes of poems. His third volume will be published in 2017. He performs his poetry on several international stages with most of his poems being written in German. He also writes and performs in French and English.
Alain Wafelmann founded the international "Alain Wafelmann & Friends" art format, whch brings artists together to perform their art in conjuction.
