Following the events that claimed General Adolphe Nshimirimana’s life and the attempted assassination of Pierre-Claver Mbonimpa, Switzerland calls on all sides to exercise calm and restraint. It strongly condemns the use of violence, wherever it stems from. Finally, it points out that only dialogue, joint responsibility-taking and respect for the rule of law can bring a lasting solution to the current crisis in Burundi.
