Sustainable Development Goals

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals and their 169 targets are the cornerstone of the 2030 Agenda, which gives equal priority to the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. The new goals combine eliminating poverty with sustainable development for the first time in a shared agenda.

Each goal must be achieved by all UN member states by 2030. This means that all countries are called upon to meet the urgent challenges facing the planet together. Switzerland is also expected to achieve these objectives at the national level. Incentives must also be put in place to ensure that non-state actors contribute more to sustainable development.
